The Shepherd and Mother of Light

What's this service about?

The Shepherd and Mother of Light (SML) is a non-for-profit organisation that serves the extremely poor and the needy Christians of Egypt. Our service began in Australia in late 2011. We raise funds to support the very deprived in Egypt. We are under the direct supervision of His Holiness Pope Shenouda the third, and were first established in Egypt in 1994.

Your donation enables for the renovation and construction of houses, where the very basics are missing. We are referring to houses with no roofing, no water, no electricity, no bathrooms, and with no furniture whatsoever, the essential needs to survive. Through the grace of God, we are able to help these people through our social service and housing programs.

Your contributions open the door for Jesus to enter their lives, hearts and homes through our spiritual development programs, spiritual days, summer retreats and visits to each family. We are so grateful and appreciative of your support and prayers. As a member, you play an essential role in the survival and development of many families.
